It's now fairly commonly known that the TV version of "Carrie" doubled as the pilot for a TV series. Ratings and interest weren't high, so a show was never made...
What are your thoughts on this? Would it have been a good show, or would it have been 13 weeks of Angela Bettis crashing proms? What sort of plot do you think the show would've had?
Personally, I would've liked to have seen a series happen, just to see a series happen. I thought Bettis and Kandyse McClure were charming in their parts, and undoubtedly could've made the worst dreck enjoyable.

Perhaps the "series" could have explored how Carrie developed once she escaped her previous life. She could end up somewhere where nobody knows her. Perhaps find people who value her telekinesis and psychic projection. Grow as a woman and appreciated human being.

It's just as well, that movie was terrible. I'm sorry, but they could've done way better. I'd rather have a Carrie and "The Ring" (the Japanese film series, not the American version) crossover, but I know that'll never happen.
sigh...

I think that a tv series would have been great and that it was about her trying to get through her life after that fateful night at the prom... and that the government is trying to find Carrie and they do and try to use her as a weapon against anyone but instead it backfires on everything and everything gets destroyed...also she finds a boy who understands her and they suppose do it and have a child in which she develops Carrie's power and you should know what happens next... yes sixteen years later its prom and Carrie's daughter has been treated badly and now there is going to be another showdown at the prom... I got these ideas when I was writing a book dealing with a misunderstood girl with a special power...
