" Trust me, Carrie, you can trust me!" After Carrie gets drenched in blood, there's what's referred to as a POV (Point of View) shot of the prom-goers, who are all laughing -- amongst those laughing is Miss Collins. As the kaleidoscope photography would suggest, this is Carrie's point of view, and it's a little off. What we're seeing is the spectators as she's perceiving them. Since her mother said, "They're all gonna laugh at you," Carrie thinks everyone is laughing, when in reality, very few are laughing -- most are actually horrified, including Miss Collins. There isn't another question that gets asked more, so I figured I'd better sticky this....

She isn't really laughing. In Carries crazy mind, and because of what her mother said earlier, Carrie only believes that people are laughing. Norma is the only one actually laughing, and she gets a few of her friends in on it. Everyone else is staring in shock.

Yeah, Norma is the one who laughed hysterically at first.

Carrie isn't crazy so shut up and Mrs. Collins wasn't laughing. From Carrie's View, Everyone is laughing at her. Because of her mother saying " THEY'RE ALL GOING TO LAUGH AT YOU!" I LOVED THIS MOVIE IT WAS THE BEST.

Exactly, only Norma was laughing, as a matter of fact, Miss Collins was about to tears.
