In 1996, the hit film "Clueless" made a much-hyped transition to the small screen. Although many cast member reprised their roles in the sitcom, Alicia Silverstone wasn't yet willing to do TV, so Rachel Blanchard was cast in her absence as Cher, the lead character. The show pulled in modest ratings for ABC but, as was the case with most of ABC's youth-aimed sitcoms, it was canceled by the end of the season. (Now defunct) UPN quickly snagged it up, where it languished for another two seasons before they finally dropped it. A year after it was canceled for good, the show had a surprising return in syndication, but it soon vanished again another year later (though it later showed up on cable on Nickelodeon's "The N"). At the moment, it's still unavailable on DVD.
