Okay.. I scrapped the DVD contest because it was annoying traders but I still have the bulletin about the new show.
**NOTE Eventhough the production is unauthorized, the organizers have no intention of performing the show illegally. I can't stress that enough. They are not setting out to break the law. There are legal advisors and wheels in motion so that everything is on the up and up.

This part is pretty condrictary. Doing an unauthoritzed production is illegal, and technically by doing it, it is illegal. But it's not like its a heinous crime. To do any production of Carrie, it sort of has to be illegal nowadays. My "Carrie White Story" is a workshop summer program piece...and it's really a learning experience, so that provides some loopholes.
Since amateur rights haven't been released for Carrie the Musical (which still remains a huge mystery to me. People have begged to have the show revived, and so far there have been a few illegal productions, so what the hell RSC? Just release it). It is said that Emerson did write to get the rights.
Where is this production going to be at? It sounds interesting though. The point of this post being that Carrie the Musical is pretty hard to do legally. Writing to anyone involved in Carrie the Musical probably won't grant you the rights easily. The only reason Emerson College was granted permission was because, short and simple: it's a college. College=Education, people love education. Simple as that.
As for the legal advisors of this production, you better hope they're good lawyers if you get caught.
