Each season, I get suckered into becoming involved with at least one new show that's soon to be canceled. Although it got off to a bumpy start, one of my favorites of the 2006-07 season wound up being "The Class." So of course, CBS jerked it around and prematurely pulled the plug on it. The show was about a group of 3rd graders who had an unlikely reunion 20-some years later, and formed friendships. From one of the creators of "Friends," it was dubbed a dupe and quickly dismissed by critics and audiences. However, as the series progressed and relationships formed with characters within the show, it was easily the best new tradition-styled sitcom of the season. David Keith co-starred as Yonk Allen, a pro-football player who was oblivious to the fact that he was trapped in a loveless marriage to much younger Nicole (Andrea Anders), who was torn between staying with her husband and leaving him for former classmate/boyfriend Duncan (Jon Bernthal). Although a few aspects of the show didn't initially work, this love triangle was one of the strengths of the show... Just as Nicole was about to leave Yonk for Duncan, Yonk suffered a heart attack, and she found herself agreeing to stay with him in the cliffhanger season finale. Sadly, we'll never know what would have happened next...
