I can't believe Sue Snell died in "The Rage: Carrie 2". Surely it would have been better to have her survive - even if only to be able to thread another sequel and make it a trilogy. I fell in love with Sue Snell in the book, even if it could be argued that she set the events of the tragedy of 'Prom Night' in motion. And I think Amy Irving did a great job with her under-written role in the original film. Her presence makes the film "The Rage: Carrie 2" work as well as it does. I miss Sue terribly now. I felt the same way when I saw "Halloween: Resurrection". They killed off Laurie Strode without a thought, believing that a horde of overly-familiar faces would make up for it. It didn't. H8 should never have been made. And when Ripley died at the end of "Alien 3", I left the theater with a heavy heart. Sue Snell is up there with these women, she's a great character who is multi-dimensional and human. The whole affair was so difficult for her, and she probably dealt with a lot of guilt after the events of the original "Carrie", and the pressure of appearing before the White Commission, and the struggle to have a normal life again. It all must have been Hell for her. And then for her to try and make up for it by attempting to help Rachel Lang makes her even more endearing, and accessible as a character. We all struggle to right wrongs from the past, with varying results.
But, if they were to make "Carrie 3", they could get Edie McClurg to reprise her role of Helen Shires from the original (it is plausible that she escaped the high school inferno) and somehow Helen could continue the story.
